What is Symmetrical Speed?

Symmetrical Internet speeds have the same download and upload speed, which enables the speeds to be used at the same time. Usually, Internet plans come with higher download speeds only because most people do a lot more downloading than they do uploading.

Uploading: data is being sent from your computer to the Internet. (sending email, storing files online, online backups).
Downloading: data that your computer is receiving from the Internet. (surfing the web, downloading music, downloading movies).

Benefits of Symmetrical Speed

faster, larger file uploads without slowing your connection
access Cloud services faster (eg. putting your vacation pics on Google Drive)
great for businesses who use shared spaces to show files to clients or communicate with offsite servers
