Porting Your Number
Learn how to keep your phone number when switching to Novus.
Porting your number allows you to keep your existing phone number even though you’ve switched providers.
How to port your number
- Make sure you have forwarding services available with your current provider. You will need this to complete the porting process. It’s often best to contact your current phone provider to make sure you have call forwarding, and set it up if you don’t.
- Set up phone installation with Novus. Don’t cancel your phone services with your current provider yet.
- You will be sent a Letter of Authorization to sign off on, which is required for us to continue the phone porting process.
- We will also need a most recent bill from your current provider with your name, address, account number, and phone number on it, for your security and to ensure speed and accuracy during installation. If you don’t have a physical copy of a bill, you can email us a copy of your e-bill
Porting process
Once we have all your paperwork, the porting process will take about 5- 10 business days to complete. It’s important that you don’t disconnect your phone services with your current provider, since if you do disconnect your services, you’ll need to reconnect your services to continue the porting process.
