A Static IP address is a number assigned to a computer by Novus, as the computer’s permanent address on the Internet. It does not change. (As opposed to a Dynamic IP address, which changes from time to time, and is what you and most people automatically have with any Internet plan).
Overall, Static IP addresses are for those who want more control of their Internet connection, and to be able to do more with it.
