Reaching your data usage limit
Learn what a data usage limit is, how we notify you when you’re close to reaching it, and what you can do about it.
1) Your data usage limit is the total amount of data you can use each month. Data usage is the amount of data transferred between your computer and the Internet in a period of time.
2) Streaming movies, downloading files, playing online games, and sending emails are examples of things that contribute to data usage. When you are connected to the Internet, you are using data.
3) Once you’ve used 80% of your monthly traffic usage, we’ll send you an email notification to let you know you’re close to approaching your limit. We will send this email to your Novus primary email account.
4) If you’ve reached your data usage limit for the month, your Internet connection will be immediately cut off. You will need to go to your MyNovus and choose to continue using your Internet at a reduced speed until your usage resets at the end of the month or you can add more data.
